1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Bigger Referrals public website, account and authentication features, closed referral groups, referral records, support features, membership billing, and related services that link to or reference this Policy.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect your name, email address, display name, business name, member type, industry or business category, profile information, account status, group membership, and information used to administer your account.
Authentication and security information
We process information needed to authenticate users, maintain sessions, support multi-factor authentication, prevent unauthorized access, investigate abuse, and maintain security logs. Authentication secrets may be handled by our authentication infrastructure rather than exposed directly to Bigger Referrals personnel.
Referral and prospective-client information
Members may submit information about a prospective client, including a name, contact information, service need, budget range, preferred contact method, notes, urgency, and whether an introduction is warm. This information is provided by members, not collected directly from the prospective client in every case.
Referral offers, outcomes, and ledger records
We store referral reward terms, percentages or dollar amounts, deal values, deadlines, status changes, member-entered payment amounts, methods, references, notes, confirmations, disputes, corrections, and history needed to operate the shared referral ledger.
Membership billing information
Bigger Referrals uses a third-party payment provider for paid membership billing. We may receive and store limited billing metadata such as a customer identifier, subscription identifier, subscription status, billing period dates, promotion information, and whether a payment method is on file. We do not intend to collect or store full card numbers or full bank-account credentials in the Bigger Referrals application.
Support and communications
If you contact support, we may collect your name, email address, ticket contents, messages, attachments or details you provide, support status, and records of responses.
Technical and usage information
We and our infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request metadata, timestamps, diagnostics, security events, cookies or similar technologies, and usage information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
3. Information you should not submit
Bigger Referrals is not designed for Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, full payment-card or bank credentials, account passwords, authentication codes, medical or health information, biometric identifiers, or similarly sensitive information in referral records, notes, profiles, or support messages. Do not place those categories in the Service unless a feature expressly requests them for a lawful and disclosed purpose.
4. How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- create, review, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts;
- operate closed groups and category-exclusivity features;
- create, display, route, and preserve referral records;
- track member-entered reward obligations, outcomes, disputes, corrections, and confirmations;
- manage membership subscriptions and access status;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- detect fraud, abuse, account compromise, or violations of our rules;
- maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Service;
- comply with law, lawful process, tax and accounting obligations, or enforceable requests; and
- protect the rights, safety, integrity, and security of Bigger Referrals, its members, and others.
5. Who can see information inside Bigger Referrals
Visibility depends on the record and your role. Members can access records made available to them through the Service. Group leaders may have broader access to records within the groups they administer where needed for moderation or group management. Platform administrators may access records across groups where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, investigate, or administer the Service.
Referral records are not intended to be public. A member who receives a referral may see the prospective-client information submitted with that referral. You should share only information reasonably necessary for the referral.
6. How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- to other members, leaders, or administrators according to the Service's role and visibility rules;
- to hosting, database, authentication, email, security, analytics, support, and other infrastructure providers that help us operate the Service;
- to our membership billing provider as needed to create and manage paid subscriptions;
- to professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or contractors under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request;
- when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, threats, or violations of our Terms; or
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell prospective-client referral data for money, and we do not use referral records as a source of payment-card or bank-account data.
7. Referral payments and financial data
Referral reward information in Bigger Referrals is a member-entered ledger. Bigger Referrals does not connect to members' bank accounts or payment rails to independently verify referral payments. A payment amount, method, reference, due date, or confirmation in the Service may reflect what a member reported, not live information from a financial institution.
Membership billing is different. A third-party payment provider processes the actual payment method used to pay Bigger Referrals membership fees and may provide us limited status and account identifiers.
8. Legal bases and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about how personal information is used or disclosed. We will evaluate verified requests under the law that applies to the request.
Some information may not be deleted immediately or completely when we have a legitimate need or legal obligation to retain it, including security records, billing and tax records, dispute records, shared referral history, correction history, fraud-prevention information, backups, or information needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
To make a privacy request, contact support@biggerreferrals.net. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request.
9. Data exports and downloaded copies
Bigger Referrals may allow members to download their records, including CSV files containing referral and ledger information. Downloaded files can contain personal and commercially sensitive information. Once you export or download data, the copy on your device or another service is controlled by you, not by Bigger Referrals.
You are responsible for protecting downloaded files with appropriate device security, access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure sharing practices, backups, and secure deletion. Do not upload exported data to public or insecure services.
10. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and ledger integrity, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations, and support legitimate business operations. Retention periods vary by record type.
Because Bigger Referrals is designed to preserve referral history and corrections, closing an account does not necessarily erase every historical reference to that account from shared records. We may delete, deidentify, or restrict information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information based on the nature of the Service and the information involved. Safeguards may include access controls, role-based permissions, multi-factor authentication, logging, protected infrastructure, and restrictions on administrative access.
No online service, storage system, transmission method, or security program can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your own credentials, authentication factors, devices, exported files, and copies of data you share outside the Service.
If a security incident creates a legal notification obligation, we will provide notices as required by applicable law.
12. Children
Bigger Referrals is a professional networking service intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly invite children under 13 to create accounts or participate as members.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, our providers, our data practices, or applicable law changes. We will update the effective date and may provide additional notice when changes are material.
14. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to support@biggerreferrals.net.
